Thrive

Sometimes the game plan for a given day is just to survive. There are times when navigating the twists and turns of life requires all of our focus and energy. But this should not be the norm. At some point we need to move beyond survival and begin to thrive. It is the will of God for His people to be blessed and fruitful.

Romans chapter 8 talks about conquering opposition. This chapter describes the forces that would try to charge, condemn or separate the child of God from the love of Christ. Its conclusion is certainly not that we are less than conquerors. Neither does it say that we are merely conquerors. Rather, verse 37 says, “Nay, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us”. This lets us know that thriving is an option!

We might wonder, “What does thriving look like?” It does not mean living a problem free life or never facing disappointment. Hopefully no one ever told you that everything in life comes easy. It certainly does not. Thriving means overcoming obstacles and succeeding in the face of potentially insurmountable odds. We can surround ourselves with positive people who are succeeding in areas we desire to excel in. We can utilize resources to help us achieve new heights in work, ministry, relationships and every other area of life. It’s time to thrive!
